( Brief description about yourself )
I grew up in a home where the bible was never read. My mom would send us to church though she never went.. Still, my early attendance at church had a positive effect on me.
My dad was an alcoholic and died from alcoholism when I was sixteen. In my teen years I became involved in drinking and drugs. When I was nineteen I was hitchhiking and some students from Oral Roberts University were on a summer missionary trip sharing tracts etc. They stopped and offered me a ride. They shared their testimonies with me and told me about their relationships with Jesus Christ. One of them asked me if I wanted to surrender my life to Jesus Christ. I told them that yes I did so they pulled over to the side of the road. There at the side of the road in their car, they led me in praying the sinners prayer, and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. In this way I have often related to the Apostle Paul who was also converted on a road. I was so excited when I got back home that I had to tell everyone that I met. Most were willing to listen though many could not understand what had become of me.
